The slogan Computing for Smart People was coined by Marvin Levin in 1998 when he founded MSL Consulting Services. He writes, "Although I like the content of the '... for Dummies' books, I hate the title. Most people are intelligent, but too often they end up in front of the computer feeling unsure of themselves because nobody ever took the time to help them feel comfortable with what they can accomplish.
